My audio drivers have been stepped on.  There is no audio, the latest catalyst drivers installed and created ATI High Definition audio device, but I have no Audio Output device.

SOme OEM or engineering sample boards might not have the Audio functionality. From the 102- Part Number off the card you can tell if it is a ATI retail board or not. What is the OS and which driver is installed?

I fixed the problem, trying to remember how. HP Realtek High definition driver is now working.  I remember disabling auto in the bios, to manual for one of the settings.  That did the trick.
